The Momnibus Act

the solution to America’s maternal health crisis

Introduced by Representative Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Representative Alma Adams (D-NC), and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ).

Background

The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of any high-income country and significant disparities in outcomes, and since the pandemic, this crisis is getting worse. But there is hope: the data show that 80% of America’s maternal deaths can be prevented, and that’s what the Momnibus Act is designed to do.

The Momnibus takes action through historic investments that address every driver of maternal mortality, morbidity, and disparities in the United States. It is the only legislation in Congress that will comprehensively address America’s maternal health crisis and save moms’ lives. Since 2023, the Caucus has enacted over $200 million in Momnibus funding through the federal appropriations process.
